Whispus is designed with privacy as an absolute priority. Unlike most voice dictation apps, your data never leaves your Mac. All processing is done locally on your device.

  • Email: Only if you subscribe to our mailing list to receive updates
  • Crash data: Only if you enable anonymous crash reports (disabled by default)

Local Processing

Whispus uses WhisperKit, a voice recognition engine optimized for Apple Silicon. All transcription is performed directly on your Mac, without requiring an internet connection.

AI enhancement of your texts is optional and may use third-party services (Claude, Gemini). If you enable this feature, only the transcribed text (not the audio) is sent to the chosen AI service, according to their own privacy policies.

Data Storage

All your data (history, preferences, personal dictionary) is stored locally on your Mac in the application folder. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the application or using the cleanup options in settings.
